Holy Saturday: When I was a good Italian-Catholic boy back in the 1950s we always observed a fast on Good Friday (no meat or fish) and into Easter Saturday until noon, when we began to prepare for the Good News of Easter Sunday. This song captures that transition. It's traditionally played in New Orleans as a dirge on the way to the above-ground interment at the cemetery. But after the funeral there is a party celebrating the person's life, and this song is played up-tempo. You can't beat Wynton Marsalis, Eric Clapton, and Taj Mahal doing it:

Easter Sunday:
In Handel's Messiah oratorio this chorus is about Easter, though these days it's more often associated with Christmas. This is a gospel version:
