Kevin McCarthy never really has had control of the House, but now it's completely off the rails. Consider:
*He allowed Lauren Boebert to pursue a "privileged" motion to impeach Biden: no hearings, no investigations, just a quick up-or-down vote.
*As a result, a flood of impeachment bills against all kinds of federal officials are being crafted: no hearings, no investigations, just a quick up-or-down vote.
*He allowed the MAGA majority to hold a second vote to censure Adam Schiff after they'd voted it down a couple of weeks ago.
*He's now about to allow a vote to "expunge" both impeachments of Donald Trump.
Why's he unable to stop this? Because in each case Donald Trump has called for any GOP Member opposing the move to be primaried. And now more chaos:
*Boebert and Marjory Taylor-Greene are calling each other names on the House floor because Boebert beat MTG to the floor first in impeachment.
*Some of the MAGA Members now want to kick MTG out of the Freedom Caucus for not being MAGA-ish enought.
The House Will Come to Disorder is the almost inevitable title of a history of this Congress. And we're not even 6 months in yeat.
